Barca all the way!

WHat a match. Own Goals. Awesome playmaking. Awesome defending. Awesome tackles.
Awesome fouls!

A star-studded Barcelona, with that nimble-footed giant from Brazil, Ronaldinho showed the world what a game of football in a Champions League Quarters is meant to be like. Such casual attacks into the Chelsea penalty area throughout those 90 minutes! Kudos to Terry too, for those two breathtaking saves from the goal-line, holding the final frontier after the wall was breached umpteen times. Unlucky though, to concede an own goal once, while managing the defense almost single-footedly (if I may put it tht way!).

Not that Chelsea played or attacked badly. Lampard, Robben and GudJohnsen, all upto their jobs. But, nobody to give that final punch in the end. Sad. And putting up sucha a brave face after being reduced to 10 men, Chelsea did after all live upto their reputation of being great fighters. The never-say-die, gun-ho spirit up for display throughout the game yesterday. How many times did they save the game from their own penalty area, with almost half the Barca team in the D. How many times did Mekalele win the tackles in midfield! Bravo Chelsea. But, kudos Barca!

Such an awesome game. Casting black shadows over the game played by Real at home. Long passing. Losing balls. Literally, gifting the ball to Arsenal midfield, who btw, should have won by a mile rather than a foot, as they did finally. Zidane is getting too old. Beckham doesn't seem to know how to head, and changing flanks every now and then isnt the same as changing hairstyles every fortnight. Ronaldo, maybe, has gone into a hibernation. And Roberto Carlos, apart from tht one great free kick, doesn't seem to know how to control the play. And the best of them all, Robinho! Less said the better!

Wonder though, what has happened to teams this time around. Losing at home seems to have become a phenomenon across all sports. Chelsea, Real, Liverpool - all losing at home. Pakis being handed a beating by the Men in Blue, in cricket. Maybe Proteas will lose to Aussies soon!

Anyways, win or lose. The fun is on. Life is peace, turn the sports ON!
